Interview with Amitabh Bachchan

On 1st of May after the press conference for the latest Bollywood movie "Bhoothnath" BNA-Germany had the opportunity to interview Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. Mr Bijay Jaiswal and Mr Ankur Jaiswal made the interview:

BNA-Germany: Do you believe in ghosts or have you had any experience with it?
Amitabh Bachchan:
Ever since we have made this film and has been to press conferences, this is the first question everybody asks.  No I do not but I am always scared to say this that in case I go back  and the ghost decides to pull me off.  I haven’t had any experience but I am sure that Mr Ravi Chopra and Mr Vivek Sharma have because they have guided me in behaving the way a ghost should behave. Perhaps they could know better.

BNA-Germany: What's the special in playing a ghost?

Amitabh Bachchan:  As there is no research on ghosts and  as nobody has seen it, so you have to rely on what the director wants you to look like.  I went along as the way Vivek wanted me to look like.   The part of the story in the film is that the Ghost is seen only by the kid and nobody else so it becomes very difficult for the actors on the set to behave as though no body is there but in fact the Ghost ie., Me is few centimetres away from his/her nose.  That’s great tribute to any actors to pretend as nobody is there and behave like that.

BNA-Germany: What do you like more: shooting with children or with big stars like Sharukh Khan?  Do you feel more comfortable with children or adults?
Amitabh Bachchan:
With children any day because they are absolutely marvellous to be with. They are very unusual. They are full of surprises. They behave very efficiently and do not come with any baggage. I think any professional actor should fear to work with children because they are very unusual stuff in front of camera.  So we always have to be on alert every time. They can play cricket and video games on set, fooling around and we were worried that they will get their lines right or not and whether they can finish the shot in time. But they come on and give 100%, just as the camera goes on.  It has been a great joy to work with Aman, this is not the first time I have worked with him.  I have done few commercial with him. He is very cute boy and I wish him all the best.  Kids and animals are unpredictable and may surprise you, upstage you or can destroy your performance.

BNA-Germany:  Where do you get your inspiration to carry on?

Amitabh Bachchan:  As an actor, one should get challenged and I hope that there are some very generous people like Ravi Chopra and Vivek Sharma and few others who wants to work with me and they keep throwing challenges at me.  The attention we get it from the media, everything put together, is a part of dynamics in your body and if you are asking about my diet, nothing special and many of you may not like to follow it.

BNA-Germany: We would like to know about your forthcoming “Unforgettable Tour”.  Are there any dates fixed for UK and Europe?
Amitabh Bachchan:
Yes. The dates are fixed but you have to talk to “WIZCRAFT”.  They are the sponsor and manager of the tour.

BNA-Germany:  Who are your co-stars in your tour?
Amitabh Bachchan:
Abhishek, Aishwarya, Preeti Zinta, Ritesh Deshmukh and probably Akshay, Shahid, Madhuri Dixit, and many more!

BNA-Germany: How often you meet, plan and rehearse together?
Amitabh Bachchan:
We started thinking for about a year ago and we meet frequently and plan it regularly.
